Wrestling at the Wisconsin Little Ten Conference team and individual championships the Mommaerts brothers each earned gold medals.

Senior Zach Mommaerts took the mat at 125 pounds and had no problems at all as he pinned his first opponent, won a technical fall in his second match and then had a major decision in the championship bout.

****With the championship Zach Mommaerts earned his 161 WLT conference win which gave him the all-time career conference  record.  The Raccoon bested a record set by Hartford's Craig Becker.****

Sophomore Taylor Mommaerts moved up to 140 pounds and he flattened the shoulders of his first opponent and won the semi-final and championship bouts with decisions.

As a team the Raccoons finished in fifth place.

In the dual meet match senior Zach Mommaerts defeated West Bend East's Trevor Pruett 14-1. Pruett fell to Mommaerts on a pin in the Wisconsin Little Ten Conference championships recently.

 Lightning girls eke out win Minimize

Lightning carried a 25-18 lead into halftime with the help of senior forward Emily Dufek's 15 points. But Living Word came out, shut Dufek down as they held her to only two points in the second half. However, Lightning was able to hang on and pull out a 40-37 Midwest Classic Conference - North win. Dufek finished with 17 points.

Senior Emily Warnke hit two free throws with 26 seconds remaining which sealed the deal.

 OHS cagers better than Hartford Minimize

Both the Oconomowoc Raccoons and the Hartford Orioles exchanged big  leads but when it was all-said-and-done Cooney prevailed 50-40 in a Wisconswin Little Ten Conference battle.

Senior Paul Williams led the Cooney squad qwith 16 points.

Oconomowoc is now 4-3 in WLT action and 7-7 overall.

 Lightning girls in come-back win Minimize

The Lightning girls basketball team was trailing after the fifrst quarter but then got going and defeated Brookfield Academy 62-56. The win kept Lake Country Lutheran tied with Wayland Academy, each having 9 wins and 1 loss. Senior forward Emily Dufek had a double-double (28 points and 10 rebounds) and her teammates contributed with points and great defense.

 Goslings nip Raccoons 42-40 Minimize

A Watertown free throw by Ereck Mitchell put the Goslings up 42-40 with less than 10 seconds remaining on the clock. Cooney had a shot at it but came up short.  Cooney senior Paul Williams led all scorers with 16 points.

The Wisconsin Lutheran boys basketball team took the lead in the first quarter and they never relinquished it. Flavien Davis scored 20 points for the Vikings wihile senior Tanner Wwensman led Cooney with 19 points in the contest..

 JV wrestlers shine at Homestead Minimize

On Saturday the Oconomowoc High School junior varsity wrestling team finished second in the 16 team Highlander team tournament. The Cooney grapplers bowed to the Orioles from Hartford Unior High School in the finals. 

Going undefeated: on the day were sophomore Sterling Shepard (160), freshman Max Schmidt (135), junior Adam Shea (160), senior Mike Robinson(171) and junior Alex Graeff (130).

Senior Mike Pagel who wrestled at 145 pounds and freshman Matt Dorney at 119 finished with records of 4 wins and 1 loss.

 Wrestlers win 10 bouts over Suns Minimize

On Senior Night the Oconomowoc High School wrestlers easilty defeated theWest Bend East Suns, 58-21. The win impoves the Raccoons overall dual-meet record to 8-7 and they are 3-2, in Wisconsin Little Ten Action.
